Text reads: Mosquito-borne arboviruses like dengue and chikungunya are steadily increasing on a global scale, and will continue to do so as urbanisation, global warming, and increased international mobility favour the spread and increase of the Aedes vector mosquitoes. Obscured by the greater priority of malaria, arboviruses nevertheless already exceed the number of annual malaria infections. In this webinar we learn about the close links between Aedes biology and human habitations, and the need for multi-sectoral and global coordination to curb the unabating spread of these diseases. We recently conducted training sessions with @unicef.org and Mozambique's Ministry of Health in Zambézia province, as part of the ZIDER study.

It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the enhanced upSCALE digital platform to identify zero-dose and under-immunised children in remote communities.

📱With the Global Fund, Uganda's Ministry of Health & partners, we've been scaling-up a mobile-based community health information system to 3 new districts.

@who.int has recommended the use of spatial repellents to prevent #malaria.
These disperse chemicals into the air, making people less susceptible to mosquito bites. We're currently trialling the Mossie-GO solar-powered device.

#Togo has begun distributing the #malaria vaccine to children under five this September — a major milestone in efforts to reduce child mortality from the disease.

The goal is to vaccinate 269,000 children under five annually. 💉✨
