This paper has all my favorite things: experimental evolution, an interesting trait, aneuploidy, and brewing yeast!

So cool to see how this turned out!

We've noticed that various yeast auxotrophs smell like sweaty socks when grown in glucose-limited chemostats. Another reason to use prototrophs :)

You can explore our entire dataset here, and even (locally) upload your own data! Obviously we built it out for yeast, but we have instructions on porting to other organisms yevo.org/mutation-bro...

You will not regret getting the big foil! So much better than pathetic normal foil.

We did a concept assessment pretest/posttest when I started teaching intro genetics, and, to our great horror, performance on the pop gen-y question decreased on the posttest! We hypothesized that before the class, students reasoned through the question, and after, they tried to pattern match HW :/

One of them has a camera, but we're keeping that one for training purposes. The 'scope that the Center has for microfluidics-based lifespans is unfortunately down right now. Sorry!

Unfortunately we don't have packing crates for them, so for now loans are restricted to people willing to drive to Seattle. We will train you on how to use them too!
