Can you help me with this? I picked up this starling last week after a crow dropped it. It's doing fine, feathers are all grown. But I am not sure how I will know it's ready to be released. We're still feeding it by hand.

The anatomy of violence- the biological roots of crime by Adrian Raine.
Interesting book though I don't agree with some of his conclusions.

What is it with cats and bookmarks? They don't even have to be proper bookmarks. The moment I use something to keep my place, they want to eat it.

There are also the just take what you like ones. We have one at work and one of my colleagues is constantly dropping amazing books in there. And I have one at my house. It's sort of a remembrance place for my late boyfriend. I distribute some of his books that way.

I have a 1950 cookbook which is a family heirloom and excellent for the basics. For some more daring recipes and lessons about etiquette I have this one.
