I’m old enough to remember the strike that happened a whole year ago because companies like Netflix claimed they don’t have enough money to pay residuals to actors for their work. Netflix has $82 Billion to buy Warner Bros.

I am genuinely losing my mind. The joke is, prima facie, objectively true.

The reason Westport has continued to suck and decline in quality over the last decade is because it is literally in the death grip of racist petite bourgeoisie

The White House’s insistence on using Sabrina Carpenter’s work and image to promote their crimes against humanity is also them appealing to their base, which already uses technology to try and humiliate and puppeteer the likenesses of women who have autonomy, success, and visibility in public

It’s not “nationalism” in any American sense, loyal to the Constitution or values it embodies. It’s a white internationale intent on drawing a cordon blanc, you might say — and coldly willing to place democratic multiracial societies with long ties of loyalty to the U.S. outside of it.
I mean this is straight up white supremacy:

I wanna say that the point of pushing intersex women out of sports is not just transmisogyny, racism, intersexism, misogyny all play a role here, the boundaries of sex need to be violently enforced to uphold patriarchy
Cis women with higher levels of testosterone, a hormone that all women produce, are being bounced from their sports entirely to punish trans women who are INTENTIONALLY reducing testosterone (among other hormones). None of this makes sense scientifically

Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

Yet the transphobes became obsessive about this issue upon trans people in general becoming more salient to them, and act as if _this thing that is already happening and manifestly not causing any great harm despite persisting for decades_ is on the verge of collapsing civilisation!

This element of the situation is so maddening because it adds this air of unreality to the transphobes statements - and yet they are taken totally seriously by our press and much of our political class. Very obviously people were muddling making accommodations and no great social crisis was caused!
The WI has been trans inclusive since the 70s, before I was born. Do you see who in this scenario was innocently minding their own business, coming to their own arrangements locally? Do you see who is forcefully imposing themselves and their demands upon others, via threats.

It is crazy to me how far off the general publics perception is on this. They seem to think that it's super easy and invasive to get disability accomodations, and that if schools/employers don't provide them it's a super easy lawsuit for a ton of cash. Both are far, far from the truth.
I think a lot of people don't realize how difficult it is to get accommodations for disability. in school, at work. there are invariably tons of hoops; it's slow. often it's humiliating.
