If Evie had a union, she wouldn’t have been using an unsafe ladder with unbraced bookshelves. Her employer is at fault.

This is Yorick’s skull: a fellow
of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. Also, not a Nazi.

This is not the answer I expected.

I may disagree with everything either of them is done, but my poor dead Southern mama would be ashamed of me if I didn’t offer them congratulations on their engagement.

I’m also curious to see what kind of ring you give a man whose wealth was founded on emerald mines.

Cast your pets with movie stars. Alistair would be Jeff Bridges.

This boy’s getting pretty silvered, but he does have a blue sweater on.

This is where I post from:

I’ve read Paladin’s Grace, and it’s good, but I recommend The Twisted Ones as a starting point. When a book tells you on the first page that the narrator AND the dog both live and the book is still scary, I’m sold.

It’s a dramatic improvement over the time I made the same style of cake exactly ten years earlier.

Most metal name of any fish ever.

And that’s it for tonight. Alistair is still living his best life.

Alistair’s allergies mysteriously improved once Beau came to live with us.
July 2, 2025 at 2:17 AM
And sometimes Alistair let Beau hang out in his kennel with him. Beau cannot return the favor, since Alistair wouldn’t fit.

They went on adventures together.
July 2, 2025 at 2:10 AM
They walked together.
July 2, 2025 at 2:08 AM
They lounged together.

Then in the summer of 2022, we brought home Beauregard.

Alistair, believing himself to be the household babysitter, understood that he had a new responsibility, since Marian was older and more independent.
July 2, 2025 at 2:04 AM
He didn’t care how they spent time together, so long as they were together.
July 2, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Sometimes, he lets Marian hang out with him in his kennel.
July 2, 2025 at 1:57 AM
This is his favorite sweater and his favorite stretch.
July 2, 2025 at 1:53 AM
His greatest fear is storms, and in Oklahoma we get a lot of them. When there’s a tornado we go in the hall, and he assumes that’s what he should do whenever there’s scary loud noises.

This summer we got him on a sedative. His life is so much better.
July 2, 2025 at 1:48 AM
But Marian was clearly his favorite person.
July 2, 2025 at 1:25 AM
In this picture you can see evidence of one of the less happy elements of Alistair’s life. He has a bit of a grass allergy and some summers his skin gets a little pink. He gets medicine, and it’s been improving in recent years (more on that later).
