Urbanist living in West Seattle

Find me on our neighborshood’s pedestrian friendly Alki Point Healthy street 🚴🏻‍♀️ After years of advocacy, it’s permanent!!

Fighting for more housing, transit, bike lanes
@nondriver.bsky.social Looking forward to reading and gaining some new perspectives

I’m seeing more cars lately blocking the sidewalk like this one. What ideas do you have for people to stop doing this?

Today’s “My Take” column. @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social knows she’s got a lot of work to do on public safety. We definitely need to make better use of the 💰 we spend on policing and homelessness. Happy she’s on it.

Me: Let’s remove a lane of street parking to add a PBL between Alki and Lincoln park 🚲

Them: I’ve stored my vehicle on the street for free for decades Don’t take it away.

Me: Time to allow hundreds of bikers to safely travel between the parks

@seattleparksandrec.bsky.social Both Highpoint and Delridge Community ctrs closed for 9 days 😏 Hiawatha and Alki centers are closed permanently to residents. West seattle residents loss. I’m sure tons of people would love to use them during this time period Why can’t we keep them open?

Great op-ed 🛴. They are popular and replace car trips. Let’s make room for them

Here is an idea on making that busy area. shared street (green). Cars rerouted on red lines. Could this fly?

the saddest bike lane I’ve seen 🥺.

Who is going to use this? 🚲.

“After sharing the lane with cars, we want you to get out of the way of that car at the intersection “

I never see many bikes on this road the way it’s built now.

Before this street became a Stay Healthy street, this was a regular situation our neighborhood was dealing with. People were afraid to walk down the street:

West Seattle showed up. Very inspiring.
