The way I understand it is that they're hiding behind that little speech bubble icon. Yours seem to be set to off though (which you can change in the settings of that site). Why they're called "chats" though, I don't know. :/

Oh good, you can buy a normal t-shirt ingame. Although the NPCs still comment on your "strange" clothes. (And tbh I'm still sort of tempted of shelling out for the Gatomon kigurumi DLC and really give them something to talk about.)

I see Time Stranger continues the Cybersleuth tradtion of making the same comments about your protagonist regardless of gender and making things a lot gayer if you play as the girl.

For attempt number six, I came back with extra health and faster healing... and ended up only taking five hits total. Still, that was a lot of orange goop!
The mawlek's beastiary entry was sad though, just to make extra sure the "Am I the baddy?" vibes aren't going over anyone's head. #HollowLym

Yeah, okay, no. There are just too many small (and not so small - like the missing syllable on this sign) irritations to keep going with this translation. Pity. :(

Even the German translation is decent; there are occasional moments where you can tell they messed up an English line (and some menu translations are awkward) but as I keep saying, that's pretty much the standard for JP->EN->GER videogame translations, and for the most part it's very charming.
