Key point: The way we talk about #AI often overstates its capabilities and misleads us. A more honest conversation is needed to ensure that AI’s real potential and limits are properly understood.

We'll share how to have more #impact and drive ideas forward by pushing beyond traditional #designRoles and get your hands dirty, even if you don't have permission. 🤫
See you in SF ☀️

We had this issue with self-driving cars, the ever-growing advance of AI makes it more relevant every day. Never submit to the robot lord. 🦾

Great points: Talk to people
- where they want to be talked to
- in the language they’re most receptive to
- at the frequency that will keep them most engaged
And split the effort between folks.

It will be fun, it will be scary, it will get philosophical.
If you can, swing by and say hi.

Great to see them using a different approach to #Figma, which has a very different use case. ❤️

Great process to manage requests for a design system by #agoda.
Specifically loved to learn about their prioritization process, focussing on impact, reusability, alternatives & complexity.

Love this: "Balance system scale with health: Avoid unnecessary complexity that could jeopardize maintainability."
I had issues reusing #components parts. It can create complexity through nested dependencies, solutions?

DS bring value, but a great #ROI is not guaranteed. Simpler solutions like #design #libraries or standalone #designTokens may be a better choice. A DS built at the wrong time will likely fail.

I especially find the thoughts on making tables work on mobile very intersting.

While it is quite work intense, it still feels like an ok ration of effort vs. result.

Love this: The key is laser-focusing on the atomic level
Start with something like #designTokens to tie your product together without a huge time sink

It was loosely based on my article on the topic: https://buff.ly/4i021IH but less focused on @figma.com and much more on how to generally maintain design systems.

I'm stoked about:
• Seamless bi-directional sync between design & code
• Tooling agnostic. Migrate from React to Svelte, etc. no prob.

Love the constraints. We tend to throw #autoLayout on everything. I see this when reviewing #Figma comp. Sometimes constraints the better solution
