Very much so. They're pretty much the same as the evangelicals in a lot of ways, just far more secretive with far more esoteric masochistic rituals, and they have a lot of experience with fascism since they were aligned and worked with Franco (essentially how they became powerful).

Quite possible and there's a biological mechanism at play. The hunger hormone grehlin promotes neurogenesis so feeling hungry and some calorie restriction is good for our brains.
