EDU podcast that believes education is the backbone of a cooperative & compassionate society - that's why we fight to empower those who work & learn in schools.

Any reaction or action against the ruling class’s cruelties is justified and hopefully one or more people will finally force the ruling class to face the consequences of their cruelty

I was talking about the ruling class

They seem to just want to piss off everyone everywhere all at once
November 28, 2025 at 8:16 PM
I really hope they face the consequences of their cruelty

Pissing off everyone everywhere all at once seems like a bold strategy

Negotiating on a nation to nation basis isn't a woke add-on, it's what prevents blockades and other fires from flaring up all over all at once in a way that is impossible to stop. There is no possible way to ensure the security of everything everywhere. This is a very stupid game to be playing

And I’ve been working towards that goal because I know too many people don’t have the imagination or knowledge to create it and as a parent who has killed their ego I’ve been working to plant trees I most likely won’t enjoy the shade from

A never ending jam session everyone paid for their work a thriving wage

Because guess what? Before I took my education podcast on hiatus that was our goal - transform the podcast into a community owned co-op. we paid every guest $50 an hour from our patreon money sometimes at our own expense

Like imagine this

I have a book idea and the title of the book comes from one of my bands favorite song, then that band is also inspired by the cover art I made for the book so they hire me to make their album art and then that new album inspires a video game dev etc an ouroboros of creativity

Buy in. Community and WORKER owned means community would earn some money (not as much as workers)
November 28, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Like even my former loved ones said the same thing to me KNOWING my friend gave his life saving his students in parkland

So I attacked parents spouting this vile rhetoric instead of them attacking the ruling class who wouldn’t give them paid sick leave or make schools safe

I don’t agree that yelling at individuals who are also probably lacking money and hurting too will do anything helpful

I say this from experience. I did the same thing when adults told me teachers will die kids will get used to the deaths schools must open so my kids don’t interrupt my zoom meeting
November 28, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Like we can continue to attack individuals who are most likely also hurting for money too to buy our work or we can create a community and worker owned cooperative creative social media/store front where profit is shared

Mondragon in the basque region of Spain is a great example of this

Someone not agreeing with you isn’t the same as them not reading your words

Here’s the point I’ve been trying to convey & the root of our problems

Until we unite in common solidarity & create community owned co-ops in every field empowering & enriching everyone we will always be on this treadmill

As a fellow author I’m confused still

If your argument is that you hate people who say “your time and your labor are worthless” why are you not using this righteous & justifiable rage to fight for living wages from your employers/publishers?

They aren’t completely different things. I make no money If my book is pirated or someone buys it second hand.

So under your logic if someone is gifted my book as a review copy then they sells it, it’s the same as pirating?
November 28, 2025 at 7:14 PM
I’m an artist, writer, & educator

I’m confused 🤔

Replace “piracy” w/ “buying second hand” in this situation & the author of the book “loses” a purchase too. And since your argument seems to be “people who sell things are guaranteed other people’s purchases” buying second hand is equally bad right?

Avoid anything from O'Reilly Media from 2024 onwards.

Tim O'Reilly is forcing all of his employees to use Gen AI.

I have books published by them (pre 2024, thank goodness) and an insider view.

rules and incentives are of course a necessary component of getting people to do anything in society, but 1) many of the relevant incentives are themselves informal and 2) the effectiveness of formal rules and incentives depends on part on the informal ones
