A word map of my most frequently used words. Apparently I say “lost dragon” a lot - and “those”. It says 100% of my pictures posted use alt text. This is super easy to do because I have Bsky set so it won’t let me post a picture without writing an alt. Also these are fun to write so I don’t get why people don’t do it.

This is pretty cool.

I have a lot of rocks but you could put other things inside since it's just a shadowbox. The cool part about it is that the little spaces are resizeable.

You see a shadowbox with little nooks in it. The nooks are resizeable. Each nook in this one has a different crystal specimen but you could put anything that fits.

This may be my favorite piece of merchandise ever.
It’s Loona from Helluva Boss wearing the cone of shame. She’s holding a lollipop. All you can see is the cone and some ears. It’s from an episode where she has to go to the vet and starts acting more like a dog than usual - lol. This is the hat pin version - for my hat. Oh yes. It’ll go on the hat.

You can search for almost anything you can think of and find it.
The lore difference between ratfolk and skaven is that skaven is owned by Games Workshop and ratfolk is not. Here you have a "rat person" wearing robes and for reasons of "rule of cool" he has ropes tied all over him. He's wielding hand-scythes. I like his paws but why does he not have rat ears? Well, I am being very picky there - this is a nice sculpt. I feel that it has a lot of detail I might find hard to paint but it's still nice. Here we have a "wolf woman" and.. Oh, they just straight up call her Loona. Okay well it's Loona -she has her phone and everything. Someone in the review comments took a picture of one they painted and used in some post-apocalyptic mutant TTRPG and she fit right in. I like that the sculpture kept her simpler cartoon form. For one, it'd be easier to paint - hah.

This is “pros only” but if you wanna try, once you rotate the SATA cables, head to Geek Squad & tell ‘em you need “data lube”.

I made all that up but if you ended up at Geek Squad asking for “date lube” let me know in the comments. Actually, don’t. What you see here is a spinning hard drive. The arm moves up and down to read the data on the spinning disks. Usually these things have more than one platter. You can still get these but SSD and NVME are far better. Where spinners excel is being cheap and big. Someday they’ll probably just disappear. Why would you really take apart an old drive? That ruins it right? Yeah pretty much. You take them apart for the powerful magnets - that’s why. Here is another shot - just at an angle.

I saw this thing on Amazon and now you have to.
It's some kind of "red light mask" that is supposed to reduce wrinkles or something - I dunno - it popped up on my "OMG ON SALE NOW HOLY SHIT" list and I'm sitting here like.. Yeah.. Yeah it's for when you wanna reduce wrinkles and then hit Camp Crystal Lake for some cardio.

A test for introversion. I’m at 21/100 and the categories I show are 0-18 - Strongly introverted 19-36 - Somewhat introverted So I’m like squeaking 3 points into “somewhat introverted” instead of “strongly introverted”.

It was just on the edge of being too cold so perhaps I’ll try a little matte varnish and then paint over that if the primer is weird.

These are all from an old Reaper Bones KS ages ago. Fun to paint as there are a lot so IDC about mistakes much.
You see a bunch of minis stuck to some foam core strips via blutack, a sort of gummy adhesive that’ll come off later.

Post a game you remember playing that nobody else remembers.

(I'm gonna cheat).
Why did I choose the name "Futuristic Idea Studios"... You see the title screen for DBQuest, a game I made and distributed on BBSs approximately one million years ago. To play you will need two rocks and some string, but if you don't have string technology yet you can also just hold the rocks together very tightly. Since this is the title screen we have DbQuest across the top with a beautiful 16 color gray gradient, and then below are some gorgeously rendered 16 color green dot tiles that represent grass along with some magnificent mountain tiles delicately shaded. It's practically chiaroscuro. For some of the NPCs it took me 3 hours to do the shading on the upper lip. I lied, they don't have portraits at all - I just wanted to quote Napoleon Dynamite. Uh, what else, oh yes there's some blue with wiggly lines atop that represents a river. I couldn't animate any of the tiles so the most you'll get here is seeing the player token jump from one square to the next.

I did finally get Wine installed.

Then I installed Heroic Games Launcher, which lets me log into GOG..

So now I'm running Ultima 5, which I think means I'm running DosBOX with WINE under KDE..

And it works - with sound. That's impressive.

Some smart folks did lotsa coding to make all that work.
You see DOSBOX in a tiny window running Ultima 5. I can make it full-screen and it looks just like it did 30+ years ago but I made it small to show that I'm running KDE and Heroic Games Launcher.

I was on that dragon themed tarot deck I kept posting about - Umbral Wings.

It’s so coooool.

The edges of the cards are shiny iridescent silver & the illustrations on the cards are all dragons.

You can only post 4 pics here so I tried to capture the bulk of it without giving all the art away.
You see the edges of a Tarot card deck. They’re silver with an iridescent quality that looks really cool in the light. I could just sit here and look at the card edges for a while. In the mid 1400s you could play a game with these. By the 1700s French occultists were using them instead to divine fortunes. I guess the actual card game got played out over 300 years. The deck came with a book that I’ve Joe d go a gorgeous white dragon with gold horns. His front hand-paws are crossed and looking at the picture again there are some extra arms coming from below him. Wait - is he sitting on someone? I’ll have to look again. I’m intrigued. Anyway all the deck is dragons - everything dragons. This is the hierophant card and then there’s a lot of text explaining what it means. Here’s the nest box the cards go in. If magnets closed and has more of that silver iridescent foil on it. And lastly hers a bag for the cards, a metal yes/no coin with a cool design on it, and some playful stickers. This is one do the cooler kickstarters I’ve been on. They even managed to navigate the horrible overseas shipping issue midstream. A little persistence goes a long way I guess. Big congrats to them for getting all this out.

So yeah I took some Das Stone and played with it over the weekend. It’s an air dry clay.

I’ve never used an armature and I didn’t do it correctly but as it started to droop and fall over I learned a lot - lol.

I bought some armature wire for next time. I got more aluminum foil too. It’s fun.
You see a lump of clay that’s vaguely dragon shaped. I was trying out a bunch of different stuff with no goal other than “how does this work anyhow”. This air dry clay (das stone brand) so you just leave it out & it does its thing. You can still see what it looks like wet at the bottom

I fiddled with Ubuntu long enough to realize I was just recreating KDE so I switched to Kubuntu.

Yeah ok, that’s a lot tech blargle.

Kubuntu is an Ubuntu variant that uses KDE, a UI for Linux distros that looks like Windows 10.

Ubuntu looks Mac-ish. It uses Gnome which can be hard to customize.
This is a screen shot off the Kubuntu site. It’s showing version 25. I use the older but still extremely similar LTS version for stability and long term support. On a Linux distro the “lts” version is what you want when you don’t want to fool around with the OS all the time. What you’re seeing here is an interface that looks a lot like Windows 10. There are variations in icons and such but the layout, start menu, etc. is about the same. Aside from the UI it’s still Ubuntu, which means it’s also Debian - the distro Ubuntu is built on. Ubuntu just adds nice extras. The problem Linux has for mass adoption is that there’s a flavor (distro) for everything and everyone so it’s easy to fall into “distro hopping” which is what I’ve done yet again. To my credit I kept it all within Ubuntu or Redhat this time and I’m already done so… Yes ADHD meds & coaching do work. lol.

A giant (hollow) Lego brick Christmas tree lurks in the background waiting to fall over and break into a million pieces, causing you to yelp in pain as you walk on them. You fall over - then its young devour the remains. That’s how Lego feeds. (Don’t send me a Christmas catalog before Halloween). At the bottom there’s a neat looking Lego purple dragon. Do I have room for this in my apt is the question. It’s but even big I’m just running out of space lol.
