The narrative of 'private sector does it better' that rose to prominence starting way back in the Reagan era has had long-term negative consequences. Public services have been hollowed out, and public housing is one.

As an urbanist, I have long noticed that subsidized housing all dates to the 70s.

Public Hearing coming up likely Dec. 1/2- would be great to hear voices that are concerned about the process followed here to speak up. Addressing the false dichotomy between what the mayor proposed and “massive densification” is important. This is not an either/or, and the process is at issue.
