I was the successful bidder for this photo taken by Mick Rock. The auction was an estate in very rural mid-OH. This person had museum-framed photos of many musicians, the majority being Queen. The print was signed by Rock before he passed. Can’t believe my good fortune at being the winning bid!

Been following Jesse on IG for a couple years. He’s brilliant. Any issue, he can write about it, often within days. So glad to see him getting the attention he deserves.

It also doesn’t help that we’ve treated many in the news media that way, too. Why does Chris Wallace from Faux News have a freaking star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Celebrities are held to a much different standard than journalists, supposedly. But we blurred that line at our own peril.

I’ve gone to the Toledo Museum multiple times from Detroit (which also has an oft overlooked world-class art museum) & it’s wonderful. People don’t realize how much $$ was put into cultural resources in Midwest cities in the 20s-50s when we were booming. And how we’ve protected them thru the years.

I’ve been saying this for years. Demographic trends alerted the right years ago & they responded: outlaw abortion, defund education, run populists/racists, message with propaganda. Even in 2028, the largest voter block will be <40. This is all the response of powerful people to their loss of power.

Such a let down. After the momentum of last week and going into 2026, you’ve squandered all of that. Believing that there will be a vote on ACA premiums in December is the stuff of fairy tales. They won’t vote and will laugh about it to your face. So completely demoralizing.

That’s not the solution. When 1 person does it, sure. But millions of people not getting insurance will destroy the ACA for those who really need it. And hospitals can’t survive w/out being paid by insurance. They’ll close. The system is messed up & R’s won’t fix it. They’ll let everyone suffer.
