Just listened to a caller on LBC extol the virtues of living in Dubai because it’s a society ‘based on respect’. Yeah, right, unless you’re a woman; gay; a foreign labourer; criticise the government, Islam, or the monarchy, etc. The word you are looking for is ‘authoritarian‘ not ‘respect’.
