If you are married to a US spouse, your temporary visa (usually for 3 months) will lapse before your case is processed. The government allowed you could stay in the US while awaiting case processing. Now the Trump admin is saying that is a visa overstay and arresting the spouses.

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Pass it on.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

Some good news: Asheville is out of a covid wave for the first time in four months.

However, with holidays here this is almost certainly a temporary reprieve. Keep masking up in indoor public spaces, especially crowded ones, and review risks/precautions with those close to you. #avlnews

Okay, you may say, that’s neat but why did it consume your interest?

To put a finer point on it: An "illegal order" is one that violates their oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

If you think that upholding the Constitution = sedition, well...you do the math.
Them: “You don’t have to obey illegal orders.”

Him: “That’s seditious! They should be hanged!”

Definitely not beating the giving-illegal-orders allegations.
