Looking forward to seeing some potentially blight resistant potatoes in the pipeline...

Mmm reminds me of excellent trips to Chile. A south American pasty. Never tried to make them though so good luck

Ditto with final talk #AAB_IPPM by @sejarnold.bsky.social NIAB surveying parasitoid wasp diversity on aphids from strawberry crops in Kent. 4 main species found plus hyperparasitoids. eDNA barcoding showed more. Little relationship to local vegetation. Sadly missed rest or risk missing train.

Potential benefits for biological control of western flower thrip in tunnel-grown strawberry crops. Importance of understanding the whole life cycle of pest and predator to make a real difference to growers. @adasgroup.bsky.social

Crop looks potato-like but unsure the flowers are part of crop as there would be some in mid to far ground too. Certainly a potato growing area.

Thanks for flagging #IPPM25 talks. It has been a great day of engagement - ending with a debate on New Breeding Technologies in pathogen-pest resistance.

It is from 2021. Still great but a reminder that it is not a new publication.

Plus truly gorgeous confocal microscopy images of AA7 accumulation (pink) around the haustoria of hyphae (green) during plant cell infection. @hutton.ac.uk

And the sound when they arrived to roost on River Tay near Dundee. Sound up. Something must have freaked them as skeins all broken up.
Cracking picture BTW

Good job Ben. Thank you for all the work you do to maintain access and show us your every day life in a national park. Always interesting.

Excellent talk and perfect timing with release of Nature paper 2 hours ahead of the event. Meant we got first view of the new Doughut. @hutton.ac.uk

A valuable review of #Phytophthora infestans populations and potato ##lateblight in the east and north of Europe. Great job.

No doughnuts tonight but there was haggis baked potato and the talk was fantastic. Depressing economic growth reality vs doughnut economics ambitions. Lots to think about and hopefully convert to action.
