A day later, still thinking about this. I just thought of another Sandra Bullock one that I don’t think has the pitfalls of Speed: While You Were Sleeping. A totally normal yuppie guy regularly taking the subway. (On the other hand, he does get mugged…)

And Sandra Bullock wouldn’t have been on the bus if she hadn’t lost her licence (or had her car impounded or something? Can’t remember), so it’s still reinforcing car-first at the same time.
