(plant gangster voice) some guys are going in the ground this weekend

being extremely fatigued is kind of like being super cold or super hot in that it sucks if it is forced upon you but if it's chosen it's kind of a pleasant bodily experience (cold plunge, sauna etc.)

hurriedly half-assing a path with random pavers I found in the garage one hour before 23 plants get delivered all at once and need to go in the ground in between and around them

this hop is one of the guys I am hoping will want to climb up all the trellises (also trying sweet peas)

what it looks like at different scales (indigo-dyed lace weight linen, 2mm jute twine, cobweb shetland wool)
April 10, 2024 at 2:24 AM
don't know who needs to hear this but plant trellises knit up super fast on size 15 needles with 2mm twine - use (yo, p2tog) throughout on any multiple of 2 stitches for a fishing net effect

beware - unethical sellers are marketing these as "crocus bulbs" when they are clearly little dudes with ponytails

I turned a bunch of earth before I gradually realized my favorite gloves are still impregnated with tiny cactus spines from molesting windfall cactus fruit last fall
April 6, 2024 at 5:50 PM
I'm too excited to sleep I'm just waiting for it to be light out so I can figure out where I'm going to plant everybody

I have ambitious plans for a hops trellis I knitted out of indigo-dyed linen months ago

April 5, 2024 at 5:12 AM

How true is it that brandywine variety raspberries don't spread as much as normal raspberries? I got one on a whim and want to put him in the ground but I've heard horror stories 🌱

maybe it's the new batch of alum I got?? I'm doing more experiments to see if I can recreate it but I think chemistry might be so dependent on little contaminations and uncontrolled variables that it might just be magic

my current level of pettiness is being mad that people don't know the difference between darning and knitting but also not explaining it because nobody cares
