"We've never been so far apart for you to miss me." "I missed you before I met you." Jayce closes his eyes, smiling softly as he turns his face into Viktor's hand. "I missed you in another life, in every life." Viktor grasps the sheet over Jayce's chest, fingers curling into the fabric.

Jayce is lying in a bed in some kind of hospital or infirmary. Viktor sits by his side, one hand resting on his chest, the other stroking his hair. "I don't want you to get sick," Jayce says. "Doesn't matter," Viktor replies. "You'll feel better soon, then you'll have to take care of me." His expression as he looks down at Jayce is fond, worried. Jayce coughs violently, and Viktor holds a cloth to his mouth. Jayce is feverish and sweating. Viktor's hand trembles as he holds the cloth up. It's saturated with blood.
