We are all about supporting spoken language so students can access science. Home to science video resources and also Concept Cat.
Yes, we sell stuff but it is a passion project first and foremost.

'Fair test' and 'dependent variables' are abstract terms that students need to understand science. But they are hard to grasp.
That's where our video resources come in. They take the abstract terminology and explain it simply. So students get it.

Concept Cat is going down a storm in Early Years settings all over. Why? Because it really helps children to learn important words such as 'less.' liftlessons.co/conceptcat

There are rumours that a new book is coming soon. Is that right @wordaware.bsky.social & @lang4think.bsky.social?

Every teacher who tries our science videos LOVES them. They are a very useful tool for conveying complex scientific #vocabulary simply, so students really 'get it.' Suited to KS2 and 3.
If you are a teacher: check them out liftlessons.co/science-home
If you're not a teacher, tell one today! #STEM

Students with literacy difficulties may struggle with other areas of learning, including science. That's where our video resources come in. They explain the trick words, so they stick.

It's #BritishScienceWeek!
Science is exciting, fun and rewarding, but it can also be challenging for students who are put off by the complex vocabulary.
That's where our videos and resources come in. Students find them engaging, but crucially they work!

Vocabulary is a building block for science learning. Our videos and resources help students to really understand scientific terminology. They really do make a difference.
Free 7 day trial (and the great value).

Concept Cat was developed by @wordaware.bsky.social and @lang4think.bsky.social. It has proved to be astoundingly popular with EY practitioners who see it as effective and easy to implement.
Our videos bring the stories to life, and help the words to 'stick.' liftlessons.co/conceptcat

If you are a science teacher or know students who struggle accessing science then check out our videos and resources that specifically target abstract vocabulary that is essential for accessing science. Free trial too!

We LOVE science, and we want our students to also. But we know that some of the words are challenging.
Look at these from energy: 'convection, kinetic store and dissipate.' That's why we created our accessible science vocabulary resources.

And our second #WomenInScience post today recognises Mary Jackson. NASA engineer ad mathematician immortalised in the film 'Hidden Figures', which only came out after she'd died. Another trailblazer!

Today is a day to shine a light on #WomenInScience.
Astronomer, Caroline Herschel (1750-1848) was the first woman to earn a salary as a scientist. A true trailblazer.

By introducing science vocabulary specifically our videos help more students' learning to take off. The video are very short, so work well as a quick intro. Also supported by review activities. liftlessons.co/science-home #STEM

Words like 'most' are so important to children in Early Years and a foundation for later mathematical understanding. Our Concept Cat videos really give children a boost. Check them out: liftlessons.co/conceptcat

We make science lessons inclusive for all learners. We do this by making sure the key vocabulary is accessible and understood. They really do work, so check them out. liftlessons.co/science-home
Good value too

Start early with maths!
'early numeracy as a whole was more predictive of later advanced mathematics skills (word problems) than of later foundational mathematics skills (calculations and fact fluency)'

Frazzled and exhausted as we all are at this time of year, we want to thank every teacher for what you do every day.
You shape the future!

Concept Cat is our vocabulary resource for #EarlyYears. It takes the work of @wordaware.bsky.social & @lang4think.bsky.social and brings it to life. Settings love this approach. Research results from EEF out next year. In the meantime take a peek: bsky.app/profile/lift...

We created our science videos and resources after recognising as teachers that vocabulary was a major stumbling block for many of our students. We invested a lot of time (and money!) into making the animations look cool as well as being effective liftlessons.co/science-home
