Data. Semiconductor. Process mining. Homemade memes. Occasional artist. Skills of a data engineer and education of a data scientist... but I enjoy working as an overqualified data analyst instead 🦄
If you're not making yourself the hero of the internal documentation you're writing, what's even the point? #databs
You are faced with two data sources. One mostly tells the truth, the other sometimes lies. They never answer your questions at the same time. A small mob of stake-holders is demanding a fresh and perfectly trustworthy report of events. In short, you are utterly and completely fucked. Luckily, ...

I'm currently in the muddy part of getting to know a new dataset... and a new API... and a new query language... wish me luck #databs! At least the documentation seems pretty complete 😊

What's awesome about building open source is that you don't have to worry about sales prospects. For example, using your favourite animal stacking poo cubes as the logo for a data preparation tool, is a totally valid option.

📢 PyStack't is now open for contributions!

(To be honest, it always was, but now there is a contributing guide to make it more obvious and to help you get started.)

So, for anyone out there working on object-centric process mining, you're invited to 🧵

"The translation from a business-oriented request into a data-oriented request should be on the data professional, not the stakeholder." and plenty more wisdom nuggets to be found here ⬇️
I wrote an absurdly long thing over the past year, and now it's finally published. I really hope some people read it and get value out of it, even though it is definitely too long.

It's funny how the answer to

"What is the problem with this function!?"

is almost always

"it's me, I am the problem"

New version of PyStack't is now live! ◝(ᵔᵕᵔ)◜

No new functionality this time, but a small fix that makes the output of ᴇxᴘᴏʀᴛ_ᴛᴏ_ᴏᴄᴇʟ2() compatible with #OCPQ. Now you can use them together to discover the process behind any open-source GitHub repo 🔥

Today we're launching DuckLake, an integrated data lake and catalog format powered by SQL. DuckLake unlocks next-generation data warehousing where compute is local, consistency central, and storage scales till infinity. ducklake is an open standard and we implemented it in the "ducklake" extension.
