A comic worthy shouting about (unless you are Black Bolt, I'm which case probably best not to!)! 😀

Films - Monsters versus Aliens. Seriously it's a great film 😀

Comics - my recommendations would probably be really obscure 😂

This was the cinema I always went to (in the rare moments I went to the cinema)! :(

I always called it The Digging Thing! Surprised it was never officially made a Thunderbird! 😀

In rare moments I went to the cinema, this was the one I went to. Always felt like the friendliest and most welcoming of all the city's cinemas!

I only remember him from the Iron Man animated series! Surprised he was even around long enough to have an origin!!

Early Image was a lot of fun, even if (like this first issue) it didn't always make sense! I do like Rob Liefeld's artwork (although find he works best when he has strong editors and writers working with him).

Got the movie on DVD, will get around to watching it at some point, and didn't realise there was a comic adaption.

It gets a lot of stick, but from what family and friends who have seen the film told me, its enjoyable and not as bad as many people say it is! 😊

It kind of feels the spin-off was the show Disney actually wanted, and they had to invest in main show to get it!

From interviews with Karl Kesel, the original plan was they where the FF from 616 (at a time during John Byrne's run when the team was in negative zone).

However after all the creative changes etc. it was changed into them being duplicates created by the Watcher.

I remember Dr Strange appearing, and then the creative team changed and the plot threads where dropped in preparation for the end of the 2099 line (and merger into a single title)

Enjoyed this run, especially at the start. 😀

Defiant definitely had some great ideas - with a strong creative team, and not necessarily going down the traditional superhero route (although at same time not alienating that audience). Wish they'd lasted longer, or at least the initial runs completed before they closed their doors.

I think you can get the two issues that where released (as Youngblood Genesis, with someone else scripting Busiek's plots, published by Arcade Comics) fairly cheaply on eBay.

Two issues of this did get released in the mid-2000s as part of Arcade Comics - Youngblood Genesis - basically using Busiek's plots with someone else scripting.

(There was some controversy at time because Busiek's plots where very basic, and Liefeld was heavily promoting his involvement).
