There is an ongoing protest outside City Hall regarding the vote to not extend the homeless encampment at Dairy Drive. Council is inside and receiving a briefing on the funding outlook for the upcoming men's homeless shelter.

Chants, some naming specific alders, are audible from inside.

According to a timeline included with Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway's statement, it seemingly took an attorney from the Wisconsin Elections Commission reaching out to the city attorney until anyone from the mayor's office was informed of the situation.

In a statement today, the Madison City Clerk's office says 193 total ballots from the Nov. 5 election were accidentally left unprocessed.

Though the clerk's office was "aware of the oversight for some time," the Mayor's office was not informed of the error until Dec. 20.

It’s worth noting that tying the new track to revenue sharing seems to contradict a statement UW Athletics gave @CapTimes back in October.

That statement said “the planning process for the facility ‘began long before the NCAA lawsuit.’”
