Back in September I wrote about a push by tenants to organize unions in several properties across the country owned by a single private equity firm, Capital Realty Group.

Since then tenants have staged several protests, including at CRG's offices. (Cont'd)

By organizing renters across Capital Realty Group’s affordable housing complexes, the Tenant Union Federation hopes to bring sectoral bargaining to negotiations with large landlords.

"Fixed" is certainly incorrect, but it's still helpful to be going back to basics and educating about exactly what this concept means, why it's a constitutional right and why it's so important.
The constitutional right to birthright citizenship is core to who we are as a country.

We refuse to let President Trump do away with that right.

Prosecutors have a constitutional and ethical obligation to turn over evidence that would support a person’s claim of innocence to their attorney.

Too often, they fail to do so even when life and death are at stake.

It might be easy to find things like this merely petty or superficial, but that would be a mistake. Demeaning, erasing or eliminating celebrations or acknowledgments of Black America is straight from Redemption playbook, and is intended to reinforce the racial hierarchy and signal its reinstatement.

I don't view people's lives as an intellectual exercise. I never have. And so I honestly never developed that whole emotional detachment some lawyers have. I feel each case as though I was the one on trial.

People widely support policies of ecosocialism. They balk at the term "degrowth," like the apolitical (but easily co-opted)"well-being economy," & are surprisingly supportive of "ecosocialism," which has the imperative of "removing the capitalist class from control of finance & means of production"
I'm excited to announce this new study, published in The Lancet Planetary Health, which explores public support for degrowth and ecosocialist transformation. The findings are quite surprising.

This is ALWAYS what the TikTok ban was about. It was never about China or “child safety.” Same for KOSA and these other “online safety” bills in congress right now. The goal is complete and total control over online speech and independent journalism
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

This is what government censorship actually looks like: defunding entire fields, deporting researchers, and quite effectively chilling speech that helps people understand how our information systems are being exploited and calls out powerful people and platforms for their bullshit.
For the last decade, the pervasive spread of bullshit & manipulation of online platforms have been widely recognized societal concerns. Now non US citizens studying those subjects can be labeled “censors” & denied visas or deported from the US. Censorship, indeed. www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...
