Twenty years ago I saw that video of some Japanese guy playing this game at the highest level, and only this year did I finally get to play it. I've always really liked a select few rhythm games, but the presentation, control style, soundtrack, character designs, and skill ceiling here are prefect

This game was so good that almost twenty years later, no sequel or contemporary has come anywhere close to the genre- defining standard of excellence that it set. Every game in the genre tries and miserably fails to replicate what made DMC3 so good.

I still hate Dante though.

The more I replay the classics, the more certain I am that this is where Sonic peaked. It stands with the greats as one of the best sequels of all time.

An extremely accessible and brilliantly written CRPG that allows the player to make complex decisions that aren't black and white good or evil with plenty of depth and player expression. This game was so good that we got three sequels that were all progressively more terrible than the last.

Every FPS you've ever played owes itself to this game, and it's yet to be topped.

All my favorite drawings of yours are the ones that involve corruption and transformation. It's like unlocking some dormant repressed part of their psyche. The best part is always halfway through the sequence. I even gave him a corrupted version just to play into that.
