So “the shipments directly threaten Americans” huh? The shipments were headed to the U.S. then?

Oh. Okay.

This is kinda like how Tony Soprano would hate Trump. I can see why you think they’re get along because they’re all corrupt tri-state assholes, but nah, those guys all hate each other.

Someone on The Downballot Discord said that for Dem chances of taking back the House next year, a D+13 result with *high* turnout in #TN07 (i.e., what we saw) is better than a D+22 result (i.e., a Behn victory) with low turnout would have been. I couldn't agree more.

It’s possibly that a candidate who was less tied to unpopular policies could’ve done even better in TN, but I think the important thing is that a candidate who *was* so tied still came so close. What does that say about how “unpopular” those policies are?

It was inevitable that republicans would eventually defend was crimes, but it’s worth pointing out that their outrage at Kelly was based on the idea that Trump would NEVER give illegal orders.
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

I firmly believe that Biden was right to drop out and was probably too old for the job (at least of *running for President*), but the press should be ashamed of how they handled the entire affair.
Some ppl have seemingly forgot that political news media spun up a "Biden secretly has parkinsons" story out of a doctor visiting the WH while the admin was working on Parkinsons policy or that Nuzzis big "Biden didnt remember me" piece was written when she was secretly working for RFK Jrs campaign
The actual "worse than watergate" scandal is how much news media collectively worked to ratfuck a Democratic presidency by largely inventing health/mental acuity concerns for hyperventilate about while largely ignoring the very real & worsening issues in front of their faces from Trump

And let’s be honest: Kimmel is a mediocre comedian and the offending joke was awkward at best. If you lose to that, it’s not gonna be your only loss.
it's very fitting that in retrospect, Trump's failure to oust Jimmy Kimmel was the point that his administration turned. It's been all losses ever since

I might find the idea that Dems deserve unique scorn for failing to beat Trump more compelling if literally every other political actor hadn’t failed in the exact same task.

I think this nets out to bad for the Bears. Rudolph is more consistent now, but it depends on if Rodgers was able to turn it on to pants the Bears.
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has been pushing to play against the Bears, but in the end, it was too quick, per me and @tompelissero.bsky.social.

Rodgers should play next week, but the turnaround was just too quick. Mason Rudolph starts against the Bears.

Politics isn’t *only* perception, but Trump is so irrational and inconsistent on substance that it’s *mostly* about perception with him.

So if most people come away from a Trump event saying, “Wow, Mamdani won that one”, it’s basically true.

I think this is right, tho obviously I can’t predict the future. MTG is a good barometer for a certain kind of voter- naturally paranoid, batty, few ideological or partisan commitments.
my take on mtg’s retirement as a former veteran hill reporter:

this is a big deal & indicative of a political realignment & any snarky users here trying to talk you out of it are simply genuinely wrong!
November 22, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Mamdani has only run in Democratic Primaries and repeatedly had Democratic primary voters say “yup, that’s our guy”. MTG has never run in a Democratic Primary, let alone gotten Dem primary voters to endorse her.

There’s no comparison here. Mamdani is a Dem, and you’ll just have to deal with that.
So when MTG runs as a Democrat I’m sure you’ll feel the same.

“Failed” might be overstating it- the odds are long, but the game isn’t over yet.
I *think* the attempt to speedrun authoritarianism has failed. The new acute danger is greater political violence (Trump calling for hangings, etc). But the concerted danger is down the line, when MAGA realizes the bill for all this corruption will come due. www.offmessage.net/p/maga-disar...
