It angers me that the National guard are deployed in DC for no good reason but were never deployed on Jan 6 2021, when an angry mob of thousands stormed the capitol and called for hanging the VP and killing other members of congress

WHOA. Trump says he will pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once said that he wanted to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” He had people killed as part of his narco-trafficking ring, which he at times operated directly out of his presidential office.

To recap—Trump pardoned Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of receiving millions in bribes & partnering with cocaine traffickers to flood American streets with drugs, but to protect American streets from being flooded with drugs, he has to mass murder innocent fisherman with impunity.

Got it

And reminding everyone that he tried to shut up Democrats who talked about following the law.
Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

This matches the lowest point President Joe Biden hit in the Gallup poll, which came after the very-not-good debate performance that led to him dropping out. Biden's highest-ever disapproval rating in the Gallup poll was 59%.

Sarah Beckstrom seems like she was a wonderful person who had a bright future ahead of her. Such a tragedy.
Sarah Beckstrom's ex-boyfriend told NBC News she dreamed of becoming an FBI special agent.

She didn't want to deploy to D.C.

"She hated it. She cried about it."

But she started visiting monuments and museums and started enjoying it.

May she rest in peace.

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Yes, who is more likely to regard the sacrifice of people as abhorrent than those who follow a religion centered on celebrating the sacrifice of a person?

Weekly gratitude practice. What's everyone grateful for?

My thanks to everyone who protested on Tuesday as ICE, aided by the Saint Paul police, abducted two people from their home. We did not stop it, but we witnessed it.

It was awful. I got a little bit pepper sprayed. I am ready to do it again.

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.
