Every engineering degree should come with option of a late career physics/medicine/economics degree so that we don't have retired engineers explaining how they've designed radical and perfect new theories of <insert topic here> in their spare time though.

CS degrees. Do them if you genuinely are interested in proper theoretical stuff about Turing machines (and if you are, amazing). If you want to learn to code for career reasons, do physics. You’ll learn Python and get to write your dissertation on exploding stars.
