I absolutely love the Experience column in The Guardian because they always seem to find people who experienced something absolutely nobody else even thought was a thing that could happen

Heartwarming: British conservatives learn willful ignorance of Church history from their American conservative cousins.

Miller is just being a racist, but he's right that certain cultural mindsets can "at scale" persist over generations and be a pernicious strain on the society that they're embedded in. Unfortunately for him that applies to a huge swathe of the GOP base.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

I absolutely despise the “inclusivity” arguments for genAI. There’s no such thing as someone who has a cool idea that‘s just limited by the barriers of skill. Art IS thinking through an idea, making creative choices, and executing it. Anyone who skips those steps is not making art.
All AI music does is devalue the work done by human artists. It’s not accessibility, it’s exploitation. We need real protections for artists against AI!

BTW — even if you had access to this AI startup as a child, you still wouldn’t know how to make music.

Words in a language have meaning based on whether they’re understood by the average speaker within a given speech community. “USian” doesn't pass the test.
If your argument involves referring to Americans as “USians” it doesn’t matter how cogent the rest of your point may be tbh

The thing about ”Türkiye” and similar things is that the Turkish government didn’t name the country and unless they’re gonna rename it I don’t care what they think the English word should be.

Attacking with no casus belli
-25 stability hit
+2 antagonism
+10 war exhaustion
Really looks like the United States is about to launch a regime change war against Venezuela with:

-No casus belli
-No authorization from Congress
-No allies or international support
-No plan for a post-Maduro Venezuela
-No preparation for any sort of stabilization or containment of the fallout

What we're celebrating in Christ the King is the fact that Christ is not like the Pagan Gods whose worship develops out of monarchical cults. He alone among kings does not do what the prophet warns all kings will
What has helped me is realizing that he's also the antithesis of kings like David. The trial and crucifixion, when he affirms his kingship, is a near-perfect inversion of David and Bathsheba

My only strong opinion is that app betting should be nuked from orbit and the fortunes of its purveyors entirely wrecked.
My only strong opinion on sports betting is you should have to do it person, taxing individual bets is probably a good idea as well tbh.
