Chicken Marbella turned out great as it always does, forgot to get wine so we broke into the It Happened bottle we’ve been keeping in the fridge, a very happy Thanksgiving to you all
This year we’re still too deep in the moving process to go anywhere so it’s going to be a nice evening in with chicken Marbella and the most romantic (and lowkey early Christmas) movie of all time, Moonstruck. Another excellent Thanksgiving in its own way, hope yours is as good

My favorite Thanksgiving was one of the years we had a car disaster happen on the way to Brian’s family. We had to spend the night in a hotel somewhere between and I woke up to the sound of “Greensleeves” being played softly overhead: there was a lutenist convention in town at the same time

Distressed that I can’t find my Criterion edition of The Others or the out of print Criterion Kind Hearts and Coronets. Losing the former would be annoying but it is replaceable, the latter deeply upsetting because it isn’t

With this discount, I'm making art at $25-50 a piece, easily the cheapest I've offered in a long long time!

I'd love to make a piece for you to give as a gift to someone you love! Or someone you hate! Either works for me.
While I do not have any immediate emergency issues, I would like to afford a bit of food for Thanksgiving this week.

So I'm here to announce 50% off my normal rates for commissions! A Black Friday deal!

As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

These are good and I’d add Cooking Is Terrible by Mischa Fletcher and Tin Can Cook by Jack Monroe. Monroe is English so there are a few things in some recipes we tend not to have in the US, but the majority are universal, and you’re smart and resourceful and can think of good substitutions
An awesome 🧵, especially w/ current fuckery.

Also recommending 4 cookbooks:
* YOU GOTTA EAT by Margaret Eby
* THE SAD BASTARD COOKBOOK by Zilla Novikov and Rachel A Rosen
* THE POORCRAFT COOKBOOK by Iron Circus Comics
* GOOD AND CHEAP by Leanne Brown

Nab from library or get online PDFs if you can.
