As I ate my breakfast today, in the gloom before any humans or dogs arrived, I saw two ragdoll cats playing in the sand pit, in the park outside. They chased each other, taking turns and then headed off happily home in different directions. I wondered how long this friendship has been going?

This was far, far beyond Rory’s field of expertise. It wasn’t even in his potted plant of expertise. He had no perception of the different names for colours. Blues were blues. Reds, reds. Strange colours with odd names were an enigma to him.
