What IS new is the idea that a trans person could hold a (for want of a better word) mainstream job, and be safe from persecution there. Our legal protections are recent, and under attack, and these coordinated witch-hunts have a long history. Cis people need to get better at recognising them.

God I hate how anti-intellectual out times are. I’d rather be sitting here reading interesting books, or learning about astronomy stuff, or making a movie about weird shit - but I gotta spend energy constantly explaining my existence to a world that empathizes more with Nazis then marginalized ppl.

I hadn't quite appreciated that every senior researcher involved in the NHS puberty blocker trial has direct ties to SEGM, a designated hate group. We have an anti-Trans, USA hard right backed group pulling the strings behind the UK NHS puberty blocker trial. It is rotten to its core. Zero Trust.

Top tip (and I wish I could remember where I picked this up from): a really quick way to prioritise emails is to have a separate folder for anything containing the word “unsubscribe.”
You don’t have to delete those, you probably had a reason to subscribe, but they probably aren’t top priority.

I’ve spent almost 20 years doing occasional dialogue editing and sound design for proper actors.

Slightly frustrating to not know enough to apply for particular jobs, but I know too much to apply for apprenticeships that would lead to those jobs. This must be what not having a way into the industry for people mid-career looks like.
