It was a massive battle. He was thrown out of his tank broke his ankle and had to continue because his superior officer died. He became field commander.

When my great uncle died my father donated his war journal and medals to the Canadian War Museum. I dragged my kids to a Trip to Normandy did not find them at Juno beach centre. However seeing that vast beach and cemetery was an eye opener.

My father was in the RCAF but couldn't fly he had admin duty. His uncle was in the Kings Grenadier Guards he was in his 30's landed on Juno with the 4th armoured fought while wounded during the battle of the Falaise Gap.

There are tons of YouTube video's with Americans just finding out what Canada did in WW2. My father signed up in 39 and was in England by 1940.

So true I remember living in Brampton when one of the last Canadians involved passed away. It's like to movie Argo they underplayed the part of the Canadian Ambassador.

I agree it's a no go without bringing Eby and First Nations into the agreement. I think he is too shrewd not to make the case to Eby we wait.
