I don't have a wrapped or anything but here's every album I've bought so far this year

I'm working on a novel, or trilogy rather, that I finished about 5yrs ago, and spent years shopping around to agents, etc. The pandemic really put a stop to that and made writing hard (among other things), but I'm revisiting it, as a better writer and editor, and my lore notes read like Nile songs

I'm doing a project where some old songs of mine are getting cut up and rearranged into a smaller, more compact album. A 25m song is now just over 15m, but it's still a beast to deal with mixing. Looks pretty when it's done, though.

I missed writing. I've been back at it more regularly the last few weeks and it's been wonderful.

For the first time in probably a year or more, I not only wrote over 1,000 words in a single-sitting, I wrote over 3,000. It's been so, so long since I've had the focus to do something like this, let alone managed to ignore the pain. It feels so good to write again, I always miss it.

Music journalist entrusted to cover a genre: "I've never heard it and don't listen to it but this statement will surely be accurate."

2/3 of the way through "Asunder" by @kerstinhall.bsky.social, and it's been a phenomenal read. In healthier, less busy times, I would 100% commit myself to making a song for this book on the next LS album, but for now I must ask you all to check out her work and this novel. Exceptional writing.

Me drinking some water after reading the opening to Asunder by @kerstinhall.bsky.social, a book with a normal beginning where nothing horrifying happens to ANYONES skin.

Last night Hans got home and crawled out from his carrier and immediately curled up next to me. He's had such a hard time, but I have to try and get him through this. I'm not ready to lose him, he just came into my life.

My cat Hans has had a really bad PTSD response, he's been frozen in fear for over a day now, not moving at all. I have a vet appt Wednesday but am already hurting financially. My initial visit is $150, and while I don't think he's sick sick, I'm certain to have to do blood work. Anything helps.

Aside from vocals, my Pillars of Eternity album is done being tracked. Due to health/money issues I doubt I'll have this out this year, but I'm trying. Really happy with how this came out, was lots of fun to write and record, even if it was damn near impossible.

Past few weeks have been tough. COVID, then (ongoing) recovery, and a family pet passed away last night, and I covered his cremation costs. Trying to sell some gear to cover costs, but if you have anything to spare, 'twould help me a lot.

Behind the scenes secrets. A lot of people liked the tone on @allieinchains.bsky.social's recent solo album, and now I reveal the secret and true architect behind the production.

I kept these notes from an old Twitter conversation where someone asked me about the film, but this was basically the direction I was going lol

Science fiction and fantasy should be apolitical, duh. Fantasy is at its "finest" when it is devoid of politics. Which is why I am keeping my Pillars of Eternity album completely devoid of political bias.

Anyway, here's a lyrical snippet from "Death to the Steel Garrote"

The last week I've been out with COVID, unfortunately, and have missed work for the last week. Thankfully all my major bills and rent are taken care of, but hospital visit and meds ate up the last bit of spare dollars. Just need a bit to get through next week when I go back to work.

This isn't my final art (that's by the ever incredible Silvana Massa), but this is the sketch I sent her and what she managed to turn it into. I always show this to people who worry they won't know how to describe what they want lol
