A painting For Jayne, 11/26/2025.

Digitally enhanced ink drawing. Created in 2024.

Jayne was having a bad day so I sent her some art work. The drawing is of a retention pond in an apartment complex I lived in for a while.

Sketching An Imaginary Ambience For Reading a Book, 11/26/2025.

Watercolor markers. Created in 2023.

It's funny-I don't read books much anymore; I'm more likely to be drawing on an iPad. I used to read about a book a week, but now I mostly read articles and news online.

A Group Of Mushrooms, 11/24/2025.

Digital sketch. Created in 2022.

Some of these are representations of real mushrooms, while others are entirely fictional. I eat many types of mushrooms, including maitake, oyster, shiitake, lion's mane, and a few others.

All The Leaves Are Gone, 11/24/2025.

Watercolor and ink. Created in 2008.

All the vibrant colors of autumn have faded. The sun is hidden behind clouds, and the landscape is now muted-a true paradise for a chionophile.

Abandoned Farmhouse, 11/14/2025.

Watercolor.

I painted this on location in central Indiana. The farmer asked if I would show it to his mother, as she had grown up in the house. When she saw it, she cried, and I ended up letting her keep it.

Portrait of an unknown man, 11/14/2025.

A sketch from 1989, approximately 8.5" x 11". I created it from a photograph I saw in a magazine, though I’m not sure who the subject is or which magazine it came from.

I found this image in one of my journals from the mid-seventies. I vaguely remember working on it while playing Trivial Pursuit with friends at the Red Key Tavern in Indianapolis.

No Arms, 11/10/2025.

Ink drawing created in 2010.

2010 was a difficult year for me. Adhesive capsulitis affected both of my shoulders, and I couldn’t paint—or even put on a belt.
