In her remarks, Anacláudia discussed UN-Habitat's New Urban Agenda platform for planning, designing, and managing cities; the importance of understanding local governments' capacities, constraints, and opportunities; and how housing is integral to managing our social and climate crises.

This year's event examines how state and local governments are addressing the most pressing land-related policy challenges of the day, including climate change, affordable housing, and financing critical infrastructure and services, in the context of retrenchment by the federal government.
