A good example of this is Brave New World. We read it in high school and the other kids couldn’t understand the first 40 pages at all because it was written before DNA was discovered/understood. I read a lot of sci fi so I “got” it pretty quick but others struggled.

They had a test drive going on for the N64 for a few weeks prior to launch at our local TRU in NJ. I made my mom take me as I was begging nonstop to go back to just play Mario 64 again. She relented and we went there on Sunday the 28th and they were breaking the street date for preorders. Best day.
