I wanne be clear I LOVE the BPL:
It has free period products in explicitly trans inclusive washrooms and no late fees.
It's been a warming centre and a cooling centre.
A posted policy guarantees no one will be denied a card for not having an address, an ID, or for having a different name on ID.
Great reporting from @thetyee.ca on my local library closing down DEI working groups. I'm really shocked and saddened, I've been really impressed by the inclusively initiatives I've seen at the Burnaby Public Library since I moved here in 2022.

Inclusivity staff groups are being cancelled over budget concerns, but more action is promised.

I love the BPL! I love how mindfully inclusive their posted card issuing policy is. I love that my local library has policies and practices that welcome my neighbours who are trans, my neighbours who are unhoused, my neighbours who have newly arrived.

Hapworth's autistic sense of justice never strays far from her side, but was suspiciously absent when Hapworth was accused of being racially insensitive, leading many to believe it had wandered off.
Missing! “Autistic sense of justice” nowhere to be found when it’s time to talk about race
A woman’s "autistic sense of justice" has been reported missing after it failed to appear when it was time to talk about racism in the autistic community, sources have said. Beth Hapworth, 26, uses…

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.
