According to our research, between 2023-25 Streeting took £224,575 from sources linked to private healthcare... Well done to @justtreatment.org + their amazing patient leaders for speaking up! 📣
A Health Secretary who won't meet
#NHS patients...but will take £220k+ from private healthcare donors.

So yes - we brought a puppet to Wes Streeting's office to ask the question: who is really pulling Streeting's strings? ⬇️

Every time someone in the UK government says growth is our top priority I silently scream - because it isn't and shouldn't be - governments need to find a balance between multiple competing good objectives - but when do we ever hear politicians saying that?

The hard working British people aren't represented by the multi-millionaire tax avoiders running Reform.
As a white British man, I'd feel more represented by a Muslim Labour MP than I ever would by Nigel Farage or Richard Tice.

B: His figure is wrong. 71.2% of Glaswegian children speak English as their first language.

C: So that's 28.8% who speak it as a second and I'll bet you they speak brilliant English and that it's much better than most Reform voters I've met online.

This is the main thing the resident doctor strike action is about, not the pay - though that helps retain doctors.

If resident doctors cannot get posts, which is the case currently, they cannot progress and may leave our NHS.

Down the line we will have a shortage senior doctors such as consultants
This year, 30,000 doctors applied for only 10,000 training posts. These are highly trained professionals who want long term NHS careers, yet thousands are being denied the ability to progress in their careers. Many are left moving between short-term roles or leaving.

We have a global commitment to reduce emissions to net zero by then!

Does that mean nothing?

England homelessness grown by a fifth since 2022, now 300,000.

Successive govts cut local authority funding in real terms, cut real wages/benefits, no curbs on profiteering, lack of social housing.

Cheaper to build social housing than using temporary accommodation.

Misery is a political choice.

Why? Because our political and economic institutions have been captured by the wealthy.

And our democracy is failing as a result.

TFW, as a nation, you have abandoned the effort to properly resource a decent rounded education for all, and have decided instead to focus on using physical coercion to drive teenagers through a pointlessly overstuffed exam system, before being forced to stay in education for 2 more years anyway.
Whenever I read a story about one of these hard-discipline schools, I shudder, thinking about the horrifying stories of abuse and trauma we’re going to hear in the future from kids who went through them.
Imagine having to sit in prison-like environs for two full days cus your boss didn’t like your hair.

The normalisation of this kind of stuff in our schooling system really should be understood as a national scandal
