Today we all live in the Great Pie Belt (as designated by Rudyard Kipling when he lived in Vermont). May all the pies eaten rise higher than the Bunker Hill Monument.

My family hosts "Pie Day" the Saturday after Thanksgiving going on two decades now. Everyone bring a pie and no "hard pants" allowed. (PJs and sweats only.)

A community organization does Pie for Breakfast every year downstairs at the church (aka the space in town with a kitchen) on the same day as the Historical Society's plant sale and it is The Best Day. You get some breakfast pie, some onion starts, and then take home a pie. For charity.

Even that gives away the approximate or (ugh) even exact DOB of your child.
Wish them a happy birthday in person.
