Question for Pluribus watchers: who would the Collective send to your door to convince you that you needed to be a part of it, a la Zosia? A friend of mine and I have decided that Cate Blanchett (her) and Natalie Portman (me) would come a-knocking.

Quality nerditude right here:
I guess I now have to do a thread on shoes in ancient Mesopotamia in response to this (which happens to be from one of my favourite accounts).

I’m not an archaeologist, nor do I really know anything about shoes, but let’s go on this journey together.
can't believe this ancient mesopotamia shoe wearing ass said people need to dress up at the airport

This is an insightful but deeply upsetting article about why everyone in the US feels poor, and why the current political situation emerges as a direct result.

Officially asking now for author folks (and reader folks) to tell me about the new queer holiday romances coming out this year—I don’t know why I’m having trouble finding them this year, but I am.

Drop 'em here, please.

(Bonus if low-angst; also happy for sapphic—this is not just a dude zone).

This is equal parts "oh, bless" and "OH MY GOD" :
Because people keep asking, the Story of The Lizard In That Dude's Leg. Some caveats:

1. This happened more than twenty years ago. There are no pictures. There was a small article in a local paper with, again, no pictures (I'm assuming that's what the producers of 9-1-1: LONE STAR found).

What sound do frogs make, according to different languages.

So far as I can tell, in Latin, frogs ('ranae') croaked ('coaxō'), which also appears to be their onomatopoeia for the frog sound:
coaxō 🐸🏛️?

It's 'croá, croá' in Spanish?

All roasts must have come from Irish people *only*. Please respect this important rule, it makes a difference.
