Some neutral stuff: the first strike against monsters being QTE's were annoying at first but I eventually got used to it. Same goes to the gathering minigames (except the fishing minigame that one was good). The way you can reach new elevations was cool but it's very easy to get stuck in corners 🚶‍♂️

Positives first: I liked the QoL improvements they made to the minimap, the growth book and the alchemy. I like how deceptively complex the alchemy system is and how big of a role party members play in it. Also goes without saying but the combat was bomb lol
