Nope, haven't been there but am hoping to be able to go back to Europe in a year or two.

I've been there, too, and would like to go back. Also have read books from the Moorish and Arab point of view: Leo the African by Amin Maalouf, and Granada, a novel by Radwa Ashour.

I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed learning more about Panama and the Panama Canal.

Update: I was contacted on iNaturalist that this may not be P. Schweinitzii, despite those of us who see this in the PNW of the US, have called it this. That this species is primarily European and it might be more correct to just go by the genus. Phaeolus sp. It was new to me.

My heart breaks for what is happening to the children of the detained/deported. I just can't fathom how this could possibly be good, how people can accept this.

I listened to your conversation on fresh air today. I found it so incredibly heart wrenching. I am sure that someone is keeping track of all of these incidents and hope that someday ALL of those who are participating in this evil are brought before a court of justice.

Unfortunately coming into this a bit late and hoping that decisions are against this development as it is proposed. I, personally, liked the alternative ideas for building something more like Woodard Co-housing. An urban farm would be nice, too, but probably out of the question in terms of money.

I just found this and am out of the loop. I live on Bethel, close to Springwood.

I was wondering about that, too. Wasn't he the one who was going to stop 2 wars immediately and make the US an isolationist country? I have to say, this attack as well as his threats to allies really don't seem like what he was promising.

As with the one on Feb 5th, there seems to be confusion about the time. You say 2:00 but on reddit it says noon.

You may have never seen or heard of it, but hair ice - a type of ice that has the shape of fine, silky hairs and resembles white candy floss - is remarkable. It grows on the rotten branches of certain...

I found some this week and had to look it up, I knew there was a connection with fungi. It's beautiful and I love this time lapse of it.

What's the green one? BTW, up here in Washington state I've seen a ton of coral mushrooms, everywhere! Even saw some this week despite the cold temps.

Ghost Stories sound interesting, never thought of reading them but I'm partial to fairytales which are probably somewhat similar in their effect on the reader

Well... it's no longer Monday but I'm reading The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt. I listened to the audiobook via Libby which for me, was more engaging (and magical)

I've been wondering about this, too. And seeing that it seems to be a world wide phenomenon, not just happening here. But also, not happening everywhere. Perhaps the uncertainty of climate catastrophe causes some people to want someone taking control of their lives.

I found some of those today. May be Sarcomyxa serotina, common name 'Late Oysters'(?).
