These are the students of 107th class. The drummer is Yuina Mita (‘Yuzuho’) who has made a name for herself as a professional musician and creator of ‘O-Vils’.

from ‘Yosiko’ shows the end of the parade and the brief open-air show. The music was ‘American Patrol’ and ‘Smoke On The Water’, ‘Tale As Old As Time’ and ‘Sing’ (Carpenters). DM ‘Puncho’ was then interviewed before the band left to perform an indoor concert at nearby Tanabe Central Gymnasium.

The sounds of other instruments can be heard nearby. This was filmed in March 2021 when band members were learning the music for the 2021 parade playlist that we eventually heard in October 2021 at Beppu.

The band's visit was enabled by the Green Band Association.
The band was 132 strong, including a number of alumni who were invited along. The cameraman moves around amongst the band members, letting us see their joy at being there. Nearly an hour long, but worth making the time to watch!

We are standing among the crowd in the square, waiting as the band approaches, stops to perform 'Sing Sing Sing', then continues the morning parade. The new students following behind are the 118th class who could not have guessed at the difficult times that lay ahead for them with Covid.
