Here’s the thing: if you treat all soldiers as intrinsically war criminals, you rob the notion of “war crime” of any meaning. It’s all simply war - which is exactly how people who order war crimes want you to think.

We know this is a bid for authoritarian governance and at this point it is clear it is failing
We know in other countries, such failures generally end with "and then he fled to Russia" or "and then he went to trial" or "and then he and his entire family were murdered."

Trump administration officials are 100% absolutely going to order the murder of American citizens at some point, in addition to people overseas, and every single one of these people needs to know that they will be held accountable, and hopefully it’s spend the rest of their lives in prison for this.
