Thank you! Thanks to you and @colourfulhistories.bsky.social I have two very effective statements. I'm not going to reject all the suggestions - a couple are not bad (too me three weeks to work out how to effect them - but some I just can't do. I really appreciate your help.

If you can get the new edition, it is much better because it takes the story way beyond captivity and includes war crimes trials and long-term effects.

Not that we should have favourites or anything, besides Malcolm (of course) I am very fond of Cleo and love seeing her antics. Looking forward to a guest post from her. I don't think she will be as polite as Percy!

Sadder are the fake enthusiasts out there with gmail & no company details who approach, praising you to the hilt then tell you how they can increase sales with their media savvy program. I get umpteen PER DAY all pandering to my insecurities. I have the power, though, I delete.

The first clue is they approach you. Unless you're a super star author (& someone BIGGER wants to poach you) that isn't going to happen. In this case the second clue is they look too pretty. The book people I've dealt with look like real everyday peeps. One was the scruffiest bloke I've ever met!

I'd be interested to know, too. I sometimes get a no-show message, depends on what I'm after. I wrote (admittedly a while ago now) with Qs and offers of info and received no response. Fingers crossed it resurrects. It is/was the most fantastic resource.

A quiet morning. Curse you, faulty voice recognition.

Small comfort ... but at least they did find him. Knowing is so much better than wondering and hoping. And she could see the place of burial. Perhaps even visit. The MRES was a wonderful organisation.

Looks like something sent into Mr Squiggle.

If you adopt is part of your family language, it will be there forever - and into his family practice and language. It is a wonderful word!
