Thought I was middle class in the Rio Grande Valley because both my parents were college-educated teachers. Nope. This is the house I grew up in. (Current view, remember it looking a little better when I as kid)

Had a delightful time in Albuquerque. Caught up with an old army buddy. Ate and drank at a an excellent food hall. Toured and was impressed by UNM, both for me as an MFA applicant and my kiddo as an aspiring astrophysicist.

Toured the University of New Mexico in ABQ with my kiddo. She already got in (it’s her “safety school”), and I’m waiting to see if I got into their creative writing MFA program. We were both blown away by the campus and the vibe.
