“Tom was super excited to become a U.S. resident, so much so that he had insisted on a cowboy-themed wedding.” But then the German robotic engineer was arrested for a visa overstay based on a policy he had no way of knowing existed. Completely Kafkaesque. "We feel like we were tricked.”

Be kind to yourself, more now than ever. This is stressful, and I’m gonna need you to make it to the other side.

I keep watching this every time I see it, because it just sincerely brings me happiness and internal peace.

No more deportations.

I think the usual advice for this is to ‘submit and forget.’

But I can’t totally let go of it, or I run the risk of forgetting for months that I did it at all because of my ADHD.

But, just continuing to write seems to help.

I know that, of course, I exist. But it is just the feeling of people not in my immediate circle reading my work. I’ve got butterflies in my stomach haha.

I have a feeling the “healing” aspect may not scale though, when you’ve got enough engagement that people ready to fight are hopping on to everything you post. 😣

My brain tends to go into fight/flight/freeze/fawn upon encountering conflict in the wild, so I love that the internet gives me a chance to take a breath. Then I can calmly respond—or just realize that I don’t have to engage! It’s like a healing practice, in a way.

Update: made pie! It is vegan and gluten free. I have no idea how long it ended up taking. 😅

End gun violence. End the occupation of U.S. cities. Using the National Guard as a tool for intimidation and suppression is an injustice to both the people of these cities, and the National Guard members who sign up to serve and aid our country.

I think the moral of the story is to never put stuff away, probably.

Yep. That’s where they were.
