This kind of nuanced breakdown is what the majority of the internet is missing. Anyway, I never formulated my thoughts about Bangtan in quite the same way, but I definitely agree with all of this.
I have an undercooked thought about the idea of BTS + community that's currently summarized as "BTS is not my community" which isn't a good or bad thing, it just is.

I had a kid who voluntarily signed up for my college level literature class ask me for reading fluency tips after ONE class period where they had to read a minor role in a play aloud and barely got through it. Reading aloud is very revealing, the same way oral exams are.
One hard part of the literacy problem in the United States is there are a lot of people -- some of them with college degrees and beyond -- who don't realize that they are bad at reading
