Lots of fun delivering a talk about how to use structural predictions in biological research to Perth Protein Group yearly meeting. Perth is lovely! Wish I could have stayed longer. Great to see old friends and meet some new ones #perthproteins

Hey Tristan @crolltristan.bsky.social - thought you might have a giggle at this bit of AI... while Googling for a video to show someone Isolde, this AI summary about came up- are you feeling like a action-romance hero? 🤣🧶🧬

So lovely to see this story yesterday on SMC complexes presented by Prof Jan Löwe ( MRC LMB). It’s been a long journey and is still evolving but is a structural biology tour de force. @mrclmb.bsky.social @unswbabs.bsky.social

Friday night… 8 pm commute home… feeling like a punk rocker. Don’t forget your task as a scientist. Focus.

Great talk today by @carlbergstrom.com at UNSW today about an undergraduate course on using LLMs. Many of the ideas translate to using deep learning tools for protein structure prediction and de novo design. 🧶🧬

Check out this new Australian government chamber as the count is coming in! Blue/Liberal should be weeping! And the line from labour in their speeches ‘kindness is not a weakness’.

Australians have voted away from the right. Labour have a monster majority government. Democracy matters here and is respected. Healthcare, education, climate action, all ‘matter’. Albanese’s speech-all about fairness, equality and kindness. Time will tell but good certain mantras were rejected

When you visit your aging relative, take a painkiller for a headache, call a friend on your mobile, use the internet for shopping, turn on your air conditioning on a hot day-remember ‘science’ made this possible. Nothing else has contributed more to your quality of life. Support scientists.

Yep, and here it is… measles in Australia. At least the population it still pretty immunised ( 93.76% from age 5). Still those missing 6 kids in every 100 😞

Apparently fake news… there is no option when I click through to review it. The whole gig is corrupt.
